About Lucent Permanent Jewellery
Hi, I’m Amelia, founder of Lucent Permanent Jewellery, based in Newcastle upon Tyne. I started permanent jewellery in the summer of 2024 from my love of not only timeless jewellery but being able to give others an experience that celebrates friendships, relationships, milestones and personal moments. I have found that this is exactly what permanent jewellery offers and it has become something I have a true passion for. Every single piece is created with care to ensure that you come away feeling relaxed and happy with a gorgeous piece of jewellery to keep forever. I can't wait to see you for whatever occasion it may be, whether that's at a private studio appointment, a market, or a special event.
WHAT IS PERMANENT JEWELLERY?
Permanent jewellery is custom-fit jewellery that is welded together without a clasp, creating a seamless piece designed to be worn every day without a fuss. Most commonly, it comes in the form of bracelets, anklets, rings and necklaces, but other pieces like hand chains and belly chains can also be created. High-quality materials are used to ensure that your jewellery will not tarnish.
Permanent jewellery is perfect for anyone who likes to wear jewellery without the worry of losing it or having to take it on and off. It is also a beautiful symbol of love for friends, relatives or couples!
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Although permanent jewellery is strong and quality products are used, it is not 100% indestructible. With the correct care, your jewellery can last for years, however if the chain gets caught or snagged it can stretch or break. Please note, refunds are not accepted on stretched or lost jewellery.

No! As opposed to gold plated or gold vermeil, which can tarnish and wear over time, we use either .925 sterling silver or 14ct gold fill. All sterling silver can eventually oxidise and darken, with hot tubs, chlorine, chemicals and perfumes contributing towards this; however, this can be polished away with the polishing cloth provided in your aftercare pack to return back to normal.
14ct gold fill contains 100x more solid gold than gold plated, which makes it wear more similarly to solid gold (so no green fingers), without the solid gold price tag!
We also now stock PVD stainless steel for a lower-cost option for chunkier chains.
9ct solid gold is available upon request.

Permanent jewellery does not need to be taken off at the airport. Certain medical procedures such as an MRI will require you to take off your jewellery. In this case, or for whatever reason you no longer want it on, use a sharp pair of scissors or clippers to cut at the weld point. This will keep the chain intact. Keep the chain and it can be reapplied for a £10 fee.
Alternatively, book an appointment and I can remove it for free!

Yes. Advanced training has been completed to ensure safety and knowledge. A piece of faux leather protects your skin so that you feel no heat, and welding only occurs on the metal. (We do not weld it onto your skin!)
Do not get permanent jewellery if you have a pacemaker.
-
No. Before your jewellery is welded, we will check the overall fit and tightness of your chain. We can tweak this as many times as you like until you are 100% happy and comfortable. Once the chain has been cut and welded, all sales are final.
